OUR WINES
OUR WINES
At Monte Xanic we put our faith in our land by giving recognition to the Valle de Guadalupe region in Baja California with our first premium wine, changing the history of Mexican wine.
Dr. Hans Backhoff Escudero, our winemaker for 30 years, firmly believed that we could change world wine history, putting Mexico as a new leader in the production of excellent, world-class wine. He was not wrong.
We are so remarkable that we have transformed Mexican wine not only in how it is made but also in how it is consumed. We show commitment to professionalism and a great passion to keep being a reference in the Mexican wine industry.
We love things done right and that is why we work hard to ensure they are done with the care and respect they deserve and thus continue to raise our level of commitment to Mexico, so much that we can say that our brands have been awarded worldwide; Gran Ricardo Edición Limitada, Clásica, Tintos Clásicos, Tintos Blancos and Calixa.
Xanic means "Flower born after the first rain" and comes from the Cora Indians, who still inhabit regions of Nayarit, on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
Our flower is wild, exceptional. A desert flower that is transformed by water and sun. It is a true representation of its young and exuberant personality, bold and resistant to time, just like our wines.
Dr. Hans Backhoff Escudero, the winery's oenologist for 30 years, firmly believed that the world's wine history could be changed, putting Mexico on the map as a producer of excellent wine and world-class quality.
Monte Xanic transforms Mexican wine not only in how it is made, but also in how it is consumed. It shows its total dedication to the professionalization of the Mexican wine industry and great eagerness to continue setting the path for the future of the industry in Mexico.
All the farming and operation of our vineyards are carried out with both traditional and modern techniques to achieve their maximum potential. The volume of grapes we grow allows us to exert strict control over their most important features. Thus, we are able to accurately determine the harvest date and select only those bunches of grapes that meet our quality standards.
We were one of the pioneers in the introduction of night harvesting in Mexico. We created root systems and clones of different Vitis vinifera that are optimized for the conditions of the different valleys in order for us to be the absolute best.
Our curiosity led us to produce wines with varieties from other regions such as Chenin Blanc, Syrah and Chardonnay because of their strong connection with our region.
It was Ricardo, Erick, Manuel and Tomás, wine lovers, who invested in the creation of a wine that could be "served and shared". Their curious, courageous spirit, full of dreams, is what today makes Monte Xanic an exceptional wine.

OUR WINES
We are passionate about Mexico’s uniqueness and that is where our story begins.
Our passion, devotion and attention to detail have earned us the recognition as the best wine in Mexico, and that fills us with unquestionable pride.
At a time when no one imagined it possible to create a premium Mexican wine that could represent the best of Mexico and of which all Mexicans could feel proud, they visualized it as possible. “If we don't sell it, we take it” was one of the founders' favorite phrases.
Monte Xanic is the fruit of that friendship, it overcomes storms, moves mountains and reminds us that life is to be enjoyed and shared, just like good wines.
